Since qualifying, Kristian has worked as a physiotherapist in private practice, and later within the public health service with an operating subsidy and reimbursement rights from Helfo. The job has taken him from Kirkenes in the north to Oslo in the south, with frequent trips to Bergen, where he trained as a manual therapist.
Sports medicine is a major area of interest and he is himself a specialist in sports manual therapy. Kristian is the manual therapist for the Norwegian national alpine skiing team, and has previously been medical lead for the Eliteserien team Follo håndball. In addition, he is medically responsible for Folketeateret's productions (including Mamma Mia).
He is professionally up to date on almost everything within musculoskeletal disorders. He regularly attends courses, and teaches sports medicine himself. Kristian also contributes as a professional expert on the podcast Breaking marathon limits. He also takes on assignments as an injury-free ambassador.
