Jo Vegar Haugen is a jovial and energetic man from Trondheim itself, in Trøndelag. He has broad and solid experience as a private-practice physiotherapist and manual therapist, and has worked at several clinics from Bodø in the north to Østfold in the south. After completing his practice year as a manual therapist in 2024, he has worked at Volvat NIMI Storo. Today he combines work at Behandlerverket Oslo sentrum and Østfold, in addition to one day a week at the outpatient department at Ahus.
Ever since Jo Vegar qualified as a physiotherapist, he has spent a lot of time on courses and further education in order to give patients the best possible treatment and follow-up. He is keen to stay professionally up to date and has, among other things, further education in the assessment and treatment of infants aged 0–2 years. Jo Vegar has a high level of expertise in the assessment and treatment of both acute and strain-related musculoskeletal complaints, with a particular interest in neck- and arm-related pain, elbow and hand complaints, and back- and leg-related pain. He is currently taking part in a development programme through Olympiatoppen and is affiliated with the Norwegian alpine skiing team as a manual therapist.
With Jo Vegar, treatment starts from your goals and needs, and you work together to find the way to where you want to go – whether that is back to sport, work, everyday activities, playing with grandchildren or your favourite hobby.
Jo Vegar has reimbursement rights from Helfo, which means you pay a patient co-payment and can use an exemption card. He can also issue sick notes, as well as refer for diagnostic imaging and specialist health services.
In treatment, Jo Vegar uses:
- Guided rehabilitation after surgery/injury
- Adapting exercise programmes and home exercises
- Joint manipulation and mobilisation
- Shockwave therapy
Outside Behandlerverket, you will most likely find him doing front crawl in the sea or cycling on a country road near you.
