Håvard is a smiling and sociable person from Tolvsrød in Vestfold. He has a broad range of interests within musculoskeletal complaints, and through many years as an active track and field athlete – with a particular focus on the 800 metres – he has developed a great interest in sports injuries, from acute injuries to strain-related complaints, in both elite athletes and recreational exercisers.
In recent years he has directed his training towards road races, triathlon and cross-country skiing, and delivered an impressive 17th place in Norseman 2025. As Fornebu's running expert, he has an extra commitment to helping runners prevent injuries, optimise their training and return safely after injury. He is also very committed to the treatment of neurological disorders and long-term pain problems.
Through taking part in the Homeless World Cup, Håvard has gained valuable experience of how physical activity can contribute to coping and improved quality of life for people struggling with substance use and exclusion. He is keen to meet each patient where they are, and to help them back to activity, participation and an easier everyday life.
His passion for the profession is great, and Håvard continuously keeps up to date through courses, conferences and professional literature.
In treatment, Håvard uses:
- Thorough examination and diagnostics
- Individually adapted rehabilitation
- Guidance and adapted exercise
- Shockwave therapy (ESWT)
- Sling treatment
- Treatment of sports injuries and strain-related complaints
- Follow-up for long-term pain and neurological disorders
Outside Behandlerverket, you will usually find Håvard training or out in nature. When he is not training towards new goals in endurance sport, he is happiest hiking in forests and mountains or with good friends.
