Alain is a cheerful and committed physiotherapist from Tromsø, known for his infectious laugh and warm manner. He has broad experience from both the municipal health service and private practice, and has worked with patients at all stages of life.
During his time in the municipality, Alain worked, among other things, as a group instructor for healthy-living groups for both children (aged 10–13) and adults, and also worked in nursing homes, at a child health clinic, in the school health service and with patients living at home. In private practice he has experience treating musculoskeletal complaints, sports injuries, orthopaedic and postoperative courses of treatment, neurological conditions, lifestyle-related challenges and complex problems.
Alain is keen to see the whole person and takes time to get to know each patient in order to make the best possible plan. He works mainly with active measures in the form of exercise therapy, and wants patients to take ownership of their own problem and learn to manage their challenges themselves – with safe guidance and support. Manual techniques are used as a supplement where appropriate.
With a great interest in the field of physiotherapy, Alain is keen to increase his patients’ health literacy, so that they gain a better understanding of their own body, pain and load.
Alain’s goal is to help patients back to the activities they enjoy, whether that is everyday function, exercise or sport – and to make the road there safe, motivating and achievable.
